Institutional XRP Buying Continues. Here’s What Happened
Institutional exposure to XRP continues to feature in regulatory filings, with Wolverine Asset Management disclosing a position in the Bitwise XRP ETF.
The disclosure provides another example of how traditional investment firms are gaining exposure to XRP through regulated exchange-traded products rather than purchasing and managing the cryptocurrency directly.
Crypto commentator Digital Asset Investor discussed the development in a recent video highlighting Wolverine’s reported holding of 52,522 shares in the Bitwise XRP ETF. He also referenced commentary from Bank XRP, who sees the disclosure as evidence that institutional access to XRP continues to expand.
Wolverine’s SEC Filing Reveals Its XRP ETF Position
The disclosure comes through a Form 13F filing submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). These filings require institutional investment managers that meet the applicable reporting threshold to disclose certain securities holdings at the end of each quarter.
The filing provides a public record of Wolverine’s exposure to the Bitwise XRP ETF. Investors can use these disclosures to monitor how professional investment managers allocate capital to regulated cryptocurrency products.
However, the reporting period matters. Wolverine previously disclosed 199,912 shares of the Bitwise XRP ETF in its second-quarter 2026 filing, valued at approximately $2.33 million. Its latest filing reports 52,522 shares. This represents a reduction of 147,390 shares from the previous report.
Consequently, the latest disclosure confirms that Wolverine still reported an ETF position, although its reported holdings decreased between the two quarters.
SEC Disclosures Provide a View of Institutional Participation
Wolverine’s filing also forms part of a larger collection of institutional disclosures involving the Bitwise XRP ETF. Other investment managers, including Goldman Sachs, Jane Street and Millennium Management, have also reported holdings in the product.
These disclosures provide measurable evidence of institutional exposure to XRP through exchange-traded products. They also allow investors to examine changes in reported positions across different reporting periods.
However, Form 13F filings represent quarterly snapshots rather than real-time trading records. They do not establish whether a manager continues to hold the same position after the reporting date or reveal every transaction conducted during the quarter.
For XRP investors, the filings offer useful information about how established financial firms approach cryptocurrency investment products.
As more investment managers disclose their cryptocurrency-related holdings, SEC filings will remain an important source for tracking institutional participation in the XRP investment market.
